Packington Great Pool

Fly Fishing

Good, easy access, quiet, private

fly fishing on 30 acre lake built by Capability Brown (1716-1783) between Birmingham and Coventry

OUR PURPOSE

We are a private syndicate. Our purpose is to provide excellent, quiet and easily accessible fly fishing for our members. We run ourselves, renting the lake from the Packington Estate. The membership is limited so as to keep the Pool quiet and easy to book.

Members expect to turn up without notice or booking and find a boat available.

Rules

1.    Guests: bring as many guests as you want on your ticket. No more than five visits for an individual, one fish per visit, to be taken from your ticket.
2.     Special needs: members with special needs, such as disabilities, who may need a regular helper etc., should apply for an extension to their guest ticket.
3.    Children can come as guests any number of times if accompanied by a member, fish taken (one per person per visit) to come off the members ticket. Members must be 18 and over.
4.    A ticket can be shared between two adults, living at the same address and who are on one income/pension or on state pension only.
5.    If you blank, it does not come off your total. If you catch and release it does.
6.    Kill one fish only per visit. It does not have to be the first. If that is lightly hooked and easy to release, please release it. Kill any fish bleeding from the gill. If this is the second fish that you kill it will not alter your take but please record this on the return.
7.    Never kill a fish over 3lbs unless it is bleeding from the gill.
8.    Only Rainbow trout can be killed. Any other catch must be returned.

14.    The Packington Water Bailiffs and PGPFF Bailiffs and other members may request proof of identity which must be supplied in the form of a signed note from PGPFF. Failure to produce such identity may mean that the Bailiff or member would require the individual to leave immediately.
15.    All fishing will be in a fair and sportsmanlike manner by rod and line. Barbless hooks will be used at all times.
